How to apply for Nigerian Army short service combatant commission (SSCC)
The Nigerian army invites applications from eligible Nigerians including civilians and serving military personnel for commission into the Nigerian army as short service combatant commission (SSCC) officers.
Requirements/Guidance For the Application
1. The applicants must be a Nigerian by birth
2. The applicants must be Nigerian by birth (Male or female) between the ages of 23 and 27 by 9th January 2026
3. The applicants must be physically, mentally, psychological and medically fit
4. Applicants must not be less than 1.68m tall but can be above for males and not less than 1.65 tall for females
5. The applicants must not have been convicted by any court of law and the military officers must not have any disciplinary case and must be recommended by his/her commanding officer/ commander.
6. The Applicant must be recommended and attested to his/her good character by at least 2 recognizable referees who are either Local Government Chairman/Secretary or an officer of the Armed Forces not below the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel and equivalent/Assistant Commissioner of Police who must hail from the applicant's state of origin. Passport photographs of referees must be affixed to the letter of attestation
7. The applicants must have at least second class lower in his first degree or lower credit in his/her HND
8. The applicants with a degree must have attestation latter from their institution.
9. The applicants must possess valid certification of birth endorsed by national population commission or verified hospital or local government or declaration of age.
10. The applicants must possess valid certification of state of origin
11. The applicants( or saving member of army) must have discharged NYSC Certificate or valid certification of exemption
12. The applicants must present a valid address and telephone number of his parents/guidance and his/her next of Kin
The applicants must not have any body tattoos or inscription
13. The applicants must have all their original copies of their certificates and documents from primary certificate to tertiary institutions
14. For service personnel must have his military ID card and latter of recommendations from his commanding officer/ commander and must have served for a minimum of 5 years and valid latter of sponsorship from the institution attended
15. The applicants must not be members of any cult or secret society groups
