How it works


What is the TVET Initiative?

The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Initiative is a flagship program of the Federal Ministry of Education designed to equip young Nigerians with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship. The program used to train youth with different skills for the period of 6 months and with allowance 22,500 each month and will be given equipment after the training defend on the types of skill their choices. The program was made for both schooling and non schooling people. The program wants to Train the youth with different skills for their future.


Through partnerships with certified training centers across the country, the program has partnerships with many different training centers across the country, the program has partners in different 36 states with federal capital Abuja making 37.

The initiative offers tuition-free training the program is free. Eradication of poverty is one of aim of the program that is why the program is free and federal government of Nigeria set to free the tuition, monthly stipends, and start-up support for selected trades in high-demand sectors.

The TVET Initiative offers two flexible training options to suit your background and goals:


Short-Term Certificate (STC) Programme

Duration: 6 months

Ideal For: First-time trainees, school leavers, or individuals with no formal education background.

Step 2. After applying your will proceed and you will see terms and conditions, read the terms and conditions carefully after reading carefully down your will see agree and click on it to proceed.

Step 3. Personal details, personal details are the current address of applicants, state of residents of the applicants, local government area of the applicants, email address, and phone number.

Step 4. 

Entry Requirements:

✅ Valid National Identification Number (NIN)

✅ Valid Bank Verification Number (BVN)

No prior educational qualification required. This track is designed for individuals ready to learn a practical skill and enter the workforce quickly.


Vocational Education & Innovation (VEI) Programme

Duration: 1 year

Ideal For: Individuals with some education or informal training experience, looking to deepen and formalize their skills.

Entry Requirements (any of the following):
✅ Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) – proof of skills acquired informally or through apprenticeship
OR
✅ First School Leaving Certificate (FSLC)
OR
✅ Any form of non-formal education certificate (e.g., training from NGOs, religious institutions, nomadic education or community programs)
